Spring and Summer Fashion Trends - Part One

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved clothing and fashion - from grabbing a Cosmo to read at the pool to shopping at the mall - I love it all! I love each new season and eagerly anticipate the new up and coming trends. When I worked at a retail store, I always enjoyed dressing the mannequins - adding layers and jewelry as the finishing touches. Still to this day, I have a friend who comes over and we play in my closet, putting outfits together and hanging them on a hanger so that in the morning, everything I need is already put together (If you have never done this - I HIGHLY recommend it - it makes getting ready each morning a breeze).
But as much as I love fashion and trends, there are some people who actually (gasp) HATE getting ready and going shopping. It doesn't come natural to them and they feel frustrated and feel like they are always wearing the same outfits over and over. Does this sound like you? If so, I hope the next few blog posts will help make your life easier! I am going to give you some ideas of what is trending so that you know what you need to breathe a little new life into, what needs to take a backseat, and maybe give you a couple of ideas about what you might want to add to your wardrobe this season. So without further ado, here is Spring and Summer Fashion Trend Number 1.....
RETRO PRINTS
Now don't get scared! Some of the best styles from the 60s and 70s are coming back! Your grandma's wallpaper print paired with trendy skinny jeans can be adorable! Think bright and bold colors, which are perfect for spring and summer! One of the most important things to remember about fashion trends is that they are cyclical - what is old will become new again so now is the time to raid your grandma's jewelry box for acrylic bracelets and earrings (these are making a huge comeback so if you have some, they are worth a fortune plus the bright colors are PERFECT for this time of year).
One of my favorite reasons for loving this trend = dresses! I love wearing dresses in the summer - they keep you cool and are so easy to throw on and go! We are super excited about the latest order we placed and can't wait for it to get here - you are gonna love these prints! So, take a look at what you have and think about adding a bold, retro print dress or shirt to your closet - it's such a fund trend!
